DoKuMan

by TalDans

Can the body transform into space and the space transform into sound? Is the  functional always the useful?

In Dokuman Taldans explore the mechanisms of movement, sound, and rhythm of a textile factory in Linz. In 2009, Filiz Sızanlı, Mustafa Kaplan, Kerem Gelebek and Loup Abromovic did the choreographic research and performed, Cevdet Erek designed and performed the sound, Erki de Vries did the scenography, Yüksel Aymaz designed the light, with Gurur Ertem as the dramaturg.

In 2018, Mustafa Kaplan and Filiz Sızanlı revisit DO KU MAN’s concept and choreography with a fresh interpretation and with a new and larger cast. The tasks of moving sound in space, creating sound blocks, and generating modular structures are now taken over by eight performers.
